“Stop Praying & Waiting for the Storm to Pass & Learn How to Dance in the Rain!”

The Storm (Rain) has actually come into your life in order to bring out the best in you, and to take out the parts of you that are actually a hindrance. The storm (rain) has a dual role: to bring out the good, and take out the bad. Unfortunately for us, we can only focus on the bad, but if you can ever get a glimpse of the refreshed, renewed, and revived you that the Lord is trying to birth, then you will thank God for the storm (rain), instead of asking Him to take it away.

No matter the storm, may it be a broken heart, loss of a loved one, a failed relationship, a financial crisis, a failed dream, a delayed promise, abandonment, insecurity, doubt, fear, etc… You can learn how to dance in the Rain! Remember that once rain falls in the natural on vegetation it causes growth. You are growing in the storm (rain); you just have to shift your perspective! So, what do we do in the hard times? We Pray, Worship, Learn, & Dance (Praise) God! Your conditions/circumstances don't subtract from the deity of God, he is still God! He is God of the Mountain, & God of the Valley Low!

When it is hard to pray, continue to P.R.E.S.S.

Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to the disciples, "Sit here while I go and pray over there." 37And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed. 38Then He said to them, "My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me." 39He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." 40Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? 41Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." 42Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done." 43And He came and found them asleep again, for their eyes were heavy. 44So He left them, went away again, and prayed the third time, saying the same words (Matthew 26:36-44).

At times, even Jesus found it hard to pray, to believe, and to accept the task before Him.  His disciples at this time were not even faithful to stand with Him.  So, what do we do when it is hard to Pray?  We PRESS!  The scripture says in verse 39 that Jesus went a Little Farther.  That is what Pressing is, going a little farther, when turning back and giving up seems so much easier.  After He went a little farther, He fell on his face and prayed.  Jesus asked God if it were possible to remove this cup, and this hard task from Him, but then He uttered the most profound word in His situation, "Nevertheless!"

Sometimes, we pray for God to remove the hard tasks and hard places in our lives, but we need to say like Jesus, "Nevertheless."  When we accept the process of what we are going through, God will step in and make His grace sufficient for us.  When we can tell God "Nevertheless," He will never give us less than what we have gone through.

The task for Christ was hard, and the place in which He stood was, too.  Gethsemane means, "Oil Press"… I like to call it the "Crushing Place."  In order for oil to come out of an olive, it has to be crushed to the bare minimum.  Your life and all the trials you face are just like that crushed olive.  You are being crushed in order for the oil to come forth.  Sometimes there is no other way to become our best self unless we go through our own "Crushing Place."

In your place of Gethsemane, I encourage you to P.R.E.S.S. (Pray Receive Expect Something Soon).  Do not stop praying and allowing yourself to receive the word of hope, and furthermore don't stop expecting greatness out of the oil press and out of this crushing place.  Please know that God is going to bring to pass the blessing you are praying for soon! Shift your outlook concerning the difficult place where you currently find yourself, and learn to embrace it, so you can gain everything you are supposed to from it.
